Hilary has an exam coming on monday which means a weekend packed with non-stop studying. I managed to tear her away for a break to the Elmwood Art Festival. Beautiful day today. I really need to live somewhere with low-humidity, blue skies, scattered clouds, and temps in the 70s. Elmwood had a few eye-catchers, but basically the same as every other art festival. Lines of white tents with artistés sitting in director’s chairs at the back of the hut. Our traditional hunt for the perfect ceramic coffee mug came up short. After the festival, a nap and then back to studying. Around 8pm we narrowly evaded a Hilary-breakdown with some dinner and leftover dessert from last night’s trip to Butterwood

Oreo and I took a trip to the park this morning. He’s been completely wiped all day. I’ve caught him chasing things in his dreams at least twice today. As I type this I can hear his paw lightly scratching at the hardwood. Get ‘em Oreo! The park was especially nice. Both of us were appeased as Oreo got to play with both kinds of ‘doodle — labradoodle and goldendoodle, and I got to explore the park and take pictures. Oreo was an excellent model today and I got a bunch of shots that I really like.

So tonight I’ve been going through the pictures and started thinking about “dog blogs”. I end up posting a lot of pictures of Oreo… there must be others out there that are as consumed by their dog so much as to create entire websites about them (yes, the thought has brushed my mind. No, I probably won’t do it). A quick search on google led to to some interesting places. Though it wasn’t what I set out looking for, I really enjoyed this Texas-based trainer’s site, Fideliodogs. Reading through his posts, it was nice to see that his training thoughts match up with those that have been taught to us. I’m sure I’ll check back often.

So the real reason I started this post was just to highlight this thing, which was mentioned on Fideliodogs. I got sidetracked. It releases Kongs at intervals throughout the day to keep your dog entertained while you’re not home. If Oreo wasn’t crated during the day, this is without a doubt something that we would own. They’ve got a video to check out. Yours for only $130.
